The Drammys have been Portland Drama Awards since 1979, and held this year’s ceremony on Monday.

Alan Lytle won for best music direction of The Wizard of Oz with Pixie Dust Productions. This was not his first win, as he had already been awarded for Celebrate Home, No Way to Treat a Lady, Hello, Dolly, and Ernest in Love.

Rick Lewis also won award for his musical direction of Hairspray at the Broadway Rose Theater Company. In previous years, he had won for Ragtime, Guys and Dolls, and West Side Story.

Not only do the Drammys have a category for music directors, they also have one for pit ensembles. The winners in that category were the pits of Spring Awakening at Live on Stage, and of 13 at Staged!

Congratulations to all!
